GN sparkle hax

Funny what these GN particles can do, isn't it? Let's see if I've remembered everything. They can:

- Act as a relay for quantum brainwaves.

- Actually cause someone exposed to them long enough to develop quantum brainwaves.

- Turn that person into an Innovator.

- Cause those with dual personalities to switcheroo.

- Have a healing effect on those exposed to red GN particles, and in a strong enough concentration apparently heal them altogether.

- Heal brain damage (well how else was Alle-chan able to hear Halle properly?)

- Enable everyone to understand each other's hearts.

- Bring someone out of a state of catatonia, and apparently even de-Innovate (Innovade?) them.

Things they can't do:

- Work properly on bad people. (Ali didn't like the feeling, neither did Healing, Revive, Ribbons or Billy to start off with)

- Raise the dead. (As soon as Louise passed out then recovered thanks to the sparkles people said 'OMG JESUS F SEIEI HE'S RAISING THE DEAD HAX KIRA YAMATO'. If he could actually bring the dead back to life, why didn't it work on Regene or Tieria? Louise was just in a coma.)

Did I miss anything?

I've been waiting weeks for a lolwut episode! *cheers* Okay, it wasn't as lolwut as any episode of R2 (long way to go before we get that bad) but it was fun nonetheless.

Hoiked from Animesuki. Since I have no idea how to add spoilertags or whatever, highlight the text to read plznthx:

Episode 19: The Innovators’ Shadow
While the complexity of the war situation between Celestial Being and A-LAWS becomes apparent, Saji desperately searches for his lover, Louise, who is an enemy MS pilot. On the other hand, while fulfilling his duty, Setsuna unleashes the Twin Drive’s power when he takes Hilling’s attack. An enormous amount of GN particles engulf the entire battlefield.

Episode 20: Anew Return
Hilling and her comrade, Revive, attack Setsuna and the others along with a new machine. They struggle against the miraculous capabilities of the new machine. In the middle of that, Lyle, in Cheridum, withdraws from the battlefield to meet the enemy unit. Lyle fights a one-sided defensive battle, but suddenly, he cries out and charges the new machine. (charge as in suicide attack, changed it because the last version sounded stupid)

Episode 21: The Door to Reform
The crew of Ptolemy 2 receives information about Lagrange Point 5 from Celestial Being’s financial backer and primary informant, Wang Liu Ming. According to Ian, there is a secret CB factory in that vicinity, and that his wife, Linda, is developing new equipment there. While hoping to enhance their war capabilities, they earnestly head toward the point designated by Wang Liu Ming.

Episode 22: For the Future’s Sake
As a result of the coup d’état, the Federation military incorporated into A-LAWS’ great fleet which is gathered to exterminate Celestial Being [once and for all]. Meanwhile, Setsuna and the others discuss their options for putting an end to the war.

from animage
Episode 21: The Door to Reform
Ptolemy’s crew is suspicious about Wang Liu Ming’s information, which was received with a time-delay, only regarding Lagrange Point 5, but Setsuna instructs them to change course anyway.

Episode 22: For the Future’s Sake
A-LAWS begins concentrating their joined forces (A-LAWS and the former Federation military) into a [single] large fleet for the sake of eliminating Celestial Being. Goodman and the others are enthusiastic prior to the final decisive battle. But in Ptolemaios…

Newtype tidbits:

P26-29 is a feature on Anew, Marina, Souma and Louise:

Marina is “Preparing for Peace”
Anew is “Healing the sniper’s hands”
Souma is “A wish, unfulfilled”
Louise is “A dream exchanged for hatred”

Marie goes to sleep once again from the shock of Sergei['s death], her relationship with Allelujah reverts to an awkward one. What Souma is seeking is revenge for Sergei.

P30 is a feature on Kati and Sumeragi’s group along with Wang and Nena.

Wang has the words “You are not an Innovator” thrown at her.
The article also mentions her break with Ribbons and the beginning of contact with Regene.
Finally, Nena will betray Wang.
Alle-chan really does have to get back in the kitchen. Looking forward to the awkwardness and the Anew screentime (she really does need more love), as well as the developments with China-tan and Nena.

Lol poster art. I love how pimp Lyle looks in every official pic: i5.photobucket.com/albums/y151/el_saz/Gundam%2000/014483410.jpg

Hurray for random weather patterns XD
Apparently we got a boatload of stuff from Russia, which involved snow, ice, and temperatures going down to -12C in some places. Big deal, right?
Well, yes, actually. Minus temperatures in February are very unusual in this country, and very rarely do we get a snowfall that's more than a dusting or lasts longer than a few hours. The last time that happened, I was 11. I'm kind of older than that now lol.
So yes, we have colds and snow. And it's fantastic XD

Looking forward to 00 18. Alle-chan best get back in the kitchen, cause it looks like Soma's coming out to play.

00 episode 17

Well, damn. I was expecting that, and I wasn't.

Win episode for the appearance of the GN Archer and Marie's salmon pilot suit, for everyone teaming up to take out the bits of falling elevator, for Sumeragi's faith in Kati, for 'Saji Crossroad, hasshin shimasu!', and for Devine going pop.

Fail for no Patrick, for Fat Boy Goodman possibly not dying, for Anew only getting two lines, for Ribbons just because, and for BLOODY ANDREI!!
T_T Papa Bear........

Next episode has Anew screentime, which makes me feel better (and it looks like her relationship with Lyle is developing nicely <3) and an understandably pissed-off Marie, who has a very Soma-like expression in the screencaps. Interesting..

what we're not

That would be vets.

For serious. I've been working in the pet shop for nearly three and a half years, and one thing that still surprises me is how many people assume we're qualified to diagnose illnesses or problems. Such as 'my dog/cat/bird/whatever's not looking well, is there anything you've got that can help?'
Well actually, no. We're only allowed to sell supplements and the odd ointment. The only medicine we're licenced to dispense is flea and worm treatment. It's not like we're Boots for animals or something. But when we tell people that, we get odd looks and sometimes anger, as though we should have everything. And know everything. But we don't, and people can't seem to understand that. We can't tell people what's wrong with their animal.....all we can say is to take them to the vets.
And that's when things can get just....daft. Fair enough, the economy's in a bit of a mess and vet bills can be expensive. But when you buy a pet, you take on the responsibility to care for that pet, right? But the number of people who are unwilling to do that... to just buy a supplement or tonic that likely won't help at all just to avoid vet fees.. *shrugs* I don't know. Maybe I'm missing something.

/rant

Sorry. I had to get that out. *breathes* I feel better now.

a new week...

...and back to work. Ho hum. I did have a whole fortnight off though, so I suppose I shouldn't be greedy...

Back on the till, back up to my elbows in sawdust (clean or otherwise), back dealing with grumbles (No, we have no parrot food. No, it's not my fault.) I did kind of miss it, though, my friends if not the actual place, and it's fun to be back. The chinchillas are still there, and the degus, so it's pretty much the same as it was when I went on holiday.

Gundam! A pretty interesting episode. We finally got to see Holly Smirnov in a flashback, along with a photograph of her with a rather Omen-esque little Andrei. It mentioned again the idea that Papa Bear got Holly killed somehow, and I'm hoping they explore that a little more in the upcoming episode.
Clever idea to let the rebel Feddies think they scored a victory by letting them take over the elevator while in fact getting them all into one place to kill them a bit more efficiently. You think Hercules would have thought about that one. And yes, another Memento Mori. One thing learned from Seed Destiny: you always have a back-up superweapon.
Trans-grahAm was lulz.  Masurao looked awesome, although I'd still like to know how Billy managed that from a few notes the Professor left behind. The Tau drives' particles run out pretty quickly as it is, so you'd have to think using Trans-Am would burn them out in no time. Not to mention the fact that the inertia caused Graham to cough up blood.... I suppose that way both he and Se-chan were fighting with a handicap, since the poor boy still has that hole in his arm.
And speaking of Se-chan, he's growing up, isn't he? ^_^ He wants to change, wants to live for something other than fighting. I think Neil would be proud of his Gundam-baka <3

Next episode we finally get to see Marie doing something other than being the dinnerlady, and even Saji gets off his arse. It should be fun.

Another day, another dollar. So to speak.  ('another day, another pound' doesn't sound quite right :s)

More time devoted to my (increasingly long almost unplanned) fic and sentai. I was going to try Abaranger next but I can't find a version with decent subtitles, and since my grasp of the Moon language is shaky at the best of times, I won't be able to understand it so well. So I'll try Magiranger.
I also made chocolate truffles using a ridiculously simple recipe I found in a magazine, and if they turn out well, I'll post the recipe up here so that everyone can try them ^_^
And tomorrow we get to see how Se-chan fares against Bushido Bob and his Trans-grahAm. I get the distinct impression it's not going to go totally 00's way. I'd have said that Graham will let him go again because it wouldn't be a fair fight. Bless him and his sense of honour lol. It does look like Se-chan gets rescued or at least bailed out by Cherudim, so at least the poor kid can have a rest..

murder mysteries

Why are they always set in the middle of nowhere? The really old-fashioned kind, I mean. Midsomer Murders, Miss Marple, that sort of thing. Are quiet country villages really more dangerous than the big cities? Barnaby must get twice as many cases per month than even Poirot did. You'd have thought inner-city detectives would have more to cope with than them. Unless the countryside really is more dangerous...
*looks round* Would I be safer in the middle of Leeds?

The best thing about baking cookies is eating cookie dough. It's bad for you, but it tastes soooooo good. How come stuff that's bad for you tastes good, and vice versa? It doesn't make sense....
If I get stomach ache, I guess I'll know why.

Episode 20 of 00 is called 'Anew Returner'. Maybe that means we'll finally get to know what her deal is. If Celestial Being do find out she's an Innovator, I hope they can be okay with it. Unlikely, I know, since Revive's been using her to find Ptolemy and all the rest of it, but she's not a bad person. Least, I don't think so, and I'll probably still like her even if she does turn out to be bad.
It's fun liking the characters everyone else dislikes, or the ones we're meant to dislike, Ali, Nena, Ribbons...they're such fun ^_^ it reminds me of Seed Destiny. The first forum I joined was full of rabid Kira fanboys, with fans of Shinnee thin on the ground, and after phase 34 the amount of bitterness and whining was amusing. Mostly about how Shinn 'cheated'.
Anyway, enough rambling.

Anew

I joined the Gundam 00 community last night *waves to everyone* but I'm still a bit baffled by all the dislike of Anew Returner. Yes, she's probably an Innovator. Yes, she's got something going on with Lyle. No, she's not Feldt. Right. Sorted.
I can sort of understand why people would want Feldt and Lyle together. It'd be some sort of closure, perhaps, and a happy ending for Feldt. But he's not his brother, and the two of them have had one proper conversation in the last 15 episodes which ended with her slapping him. Anew's rather sweet, and though she hasn't had much character development so far, I expect that'll change once we learn more about her past (such as why if she's an Innovator she can't remember being one, and how she ended up in Celestial Being) and perhaps that will mean more for her relationship with Lyle.

Right, that's got that off me chest ^_^ I need some chocolate.

A day I could have spent writing instead spent in the company of Super Sentai *sighs*
My brother introduced me to 'Tokusou Sentai Dekaranger' a couple of months or so ago, and we've been watching it at nights, but since I have the rest of this week left I thought I'd marathon the last ten episodes. Heckuva rollercoaster too. The acting on Power Rangers doesn't come close to the acting on this show. It took me five hours to watch it all, with cups of tea in between, but it was well worth it. More people should watch it.
Think I'll try Abaranger next <3

Gundam 00 episode 15

  • Jan. 19th, 2009 at 12:00 PM
nia2
Well, I finally found a subbed version (only up on DDL so far, but I don't imagine streaming should take that long) and I'd say it was worth waiting for. More a character development episode than badass fighting, but they're nearly always good.
Ptolemy got supplies from Kataron thanks to Lyle, and it seems as though Anew understands that that's who he was talking to and not the A-LAWS. Feldt's noticed there's something going on between them, and she looks happy about it. I guess that kiss worked just like he wanted it to. Ptolemy's still not totally fixed yet - they can't use submarine mode, and the weapons are still busted - but at least they're doing better than they were. They just need Se-chan back.

I expected Hercules (awesome name) to try and persuade Papa Bear to join his coup d'etat, but he actually wanted Papa Bear to stay out of it. He knew Papa Bear would have problems disobeying military orders (apparently following them led to his wife's death) and he didn't want to end up fighting his friend. Kataron were told about the coup, though the Feddie who told them wanted them to stand by and see what happens before joining in, which is probably a good idea. Klaus said he'd tell Celestial Being. (though it's up in the air whether they'd be interested in helping out) If it all works out, it'd probably be good news for Kataron, though I have a bad feeling about it all.

Se-chan had a nightmare, poor thing. He saw his little self run into his old house to kill his parents, and though he took the gun away and told little Se-chan that there was no God, it didn't work out so well. He did see Neil, just as I thought, who told him that the only thing he can change about the past is the way he feels about it in the present, and that Se-chan would change in place of him. Neil seems to be acting as some sort of cosmic mentor (Obi-Wan Dylandy?) to those who knew him. Let the poor chap rest in peace.
Se-chan had managed to get to the Kataron base after his fight with Ali and woke up to hear the kids singing, and Marina was sitting beside him. The two of them had a nice chat (causing the kiddies to run off and tell everyone they were acting all 'lovey-dovey') and it turns out that before she became princess, Marina wanted to be a musician, or at least a singer. Is this going to end like Macross?

A-LAWS go after Ptolemy with 36 suits, or at least 35 and one mobile armour, which is recockulous. Nothing like overkill. Kati did make Patrick pilot the command plane thingie rather than a mobile suit, saying she was counting on his luck and reputed immortality. Awesome. And of course, anything Kati said, Patrick would do.
Trans-Am Cherudim sniped a good number, but they're kinda wise to it now so most of em dodged until Trans-Am ran out. Arios and Seravee were there, but the Empress (mobile armour) took them out pretty easily with some sort of plasma leader thing. All that was left was GN Archer, and Marie volunteered quite quickly to go out. I think she's fed up with being the dinner lady. I can see why Alle-chan wants to keep her from the fighting and all, but the poor girl must be so bored... In the end though, the attack team got news of the coup d'etat (they took over Africa's orbital elevator) and retreated sharpish. Which is probably a very good thing.

Se-chan (still injured) got news of where Ptolemy was, and set off to find them, passing by the Africa elevator on his way. He has no idea about the coup, but evidently someone thought he did, and was waiting for him. Yep, it's Graham. He started with his usual disturbingly creepy speeches again, though Se-chan still doesn't care, then he showed off the 'trick' Billy installed in Masurao. Trans-Am, or at least a variant of it.

Isn't that cheating?

Look how awesome that is! The song's 'trust you' by Itou Yuna, and though it doesn't sound like a typical Gundam song, it's sooooo pretty <3. It follows on from the first ending, almost every pairing's confirmed, (Lyle x Anew, Alle-chan x Marie, Saji x Louise) we get Tieria turning from the mirror to aim at the Innovators....total win.
The Gundams in bits doesn't worry me - it could just be a sign that they're not needed any more, and it's never a good idea to read too much into these things. It's just fun ^_^

Well, Most Haunted Live was immense fail. We'd been told all week that the team were going to 'attempt to conjure a demon' and last night they were all 'oooh we're going to summon Belial, the demon of lies and guilt'. Fair enough, I thought. This might actually be scary. But when it got to around 11pm, suddenly we see Ciaran and the two mediums stuck in the studio for no particular reason, and the rest of the team doing their little walkabout alone poking through dark cellars. All we got were a couple of knocks on the wall, a three-minute seance with a (admittedly pretty) wooden ouija table thing and the tag team of Karl/Stuart wandering off on their own and running back yelling they'd seen this black growly thing crawling toward them. Unsurprisingly, this hadn't been caught on camera.
Come back, Derek Acorah. All is forgiven.
